In August 2004, a new era of Mercyhurst baseball began. No longer having to travel the 20-minute drive to North East, Pa. to play baseball, now the Laker team has its own on-campus facility.

In past years, the Mercyhurst baseball team played all of its home games at Hirtzel Field on the campus of Mercyhurst North East. Now, the team can practice and play right on campus. Pro Grass, Inc., out of Pittsburgh, put the turf in.

Baseball will share the complex with men's and women's soccer.
