Erie, Pa. - Mercyhurst College head football coach Marty Schaetzle announced the Class of 2009 for Laker football. The recruiting class includes 11 total players, five defensive players, four offensive players and a pair of tight end/defensive ends.

All 11 players hail from Ohio or Pennsylvania. Eight of the players are Ohio natives, with the remaining three recruits from Pennsylvania.

On defense, the Lakers are bringing in three linebackers, two defensive backs and two defensive ends. The offense will be bolstered by the additions of two offensive linemen, one quarterback, one running back, and a pair of tight ends.
