No. 8 Carnegie Mellon Sweeps Lakers

Pittsburgh, Pa. - The Mercyhurst women's tennis team dropped to 12-8 on the season with a 9-0 loss to NCAA Division III No. 8 Carnegie Mellon Wednesday. The Lakers won just one set during the match.

Carnegie Mellon dominated doubles play, dropping just three games combined in the three matches. In singles action, Kim Ezzo won the opening set at the No. 1 spot, but eventually lost 2-6, 6-2, 6-3. Jennifer Daly also played a strong match at No. 2 singles, but came up on the short end of a 6-3, 6-3 decision.

Carnegie Mellon improves to 15-6 on the year with the win. Mercyhurst will host Tiffin Friday at 3 p.m. at Penn State Behrend's tennis facility.
